Noor Malabika Das, known for her roles in numerous web series, was found dead at her residence in Mumbai, with authorities considering suicide as the cause of death. Originally from Assam, Das had transitioned from a career as an air hostess with Qatar Airways to pursue acting. She notably starred alongside Kajol in the 2023 legal drama ‘The Trial’, and resided in Lokhandwala, Mumbai.

She featured in several films and web series, including ‘Siskiyan’, ‘Walkaman’, ‘Teekhi Chatni’, ‘Jaghanya Upaya’, ‘Charamsukh’, ‘Dekhi Andekhi’, and ‘Backrod Hustale’.

Upon receiving reports from concerned neighbours about a suspicious odor emanating from her apartment on Thursday, authorities proceeded to discover the decomposed remains of the actress upon entry.

Following standard protocol, the police initiated contact with Noor’s family after conducting a thorough examination. However, with no immediate family members coming forward to claim her body, her final rites were conducted the subsequent Sunday, as reported by the media.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association has urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the alleged suicide. The organization emphasized the importance of the government examining the root causes behind the ongoing tragedies within the Indian film industry.
