As technology continues to reshape industries and governance, Mahindra University School of Law has underscored the importance of interdisciplinary legal education through its integrated B.Tech LL.B. programme, aimed at preparing students for emerging careers at the intersection of law and technology.

The university said the programme has been designed in response to the changing landscape of legal practice, where professionals are increasingly required to address issues related to artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital privacy, fintech regulation, data protection, intellectual property and technology-driven business models.

Unlike conventional legal education, which has traditionally focused on statutory interpretation, judicial precedents and courtroom practice, the integrated programme combines engineering and legal studies to help students develop an understanding of both technical systems and regulatory frameworks.

According to Mahindra University School of Law, the course equips students with analytical, problem-solving and innovation-driven skills while strengthening their understanding of legal reasoning, governance and public policy. The interdisciplinary approach is intended to enable graduates to understand how technologies are developed, deployed and regulated.

Commenting on the programme, Mahindra University School of Law said, “The future of legal education lies in creating professionals who can engage meaningfully with both the technical and legal dimensions of emerging issues.”

The university added that the programme aims to bridge the gap between science and jurisprudence by preparing graduates for careers in policy-making, corporate advisory, regulatory design, compliance, technology disputes, innovation governance and digital transformation.

With technology playing an increasingly central role across sectors, the university believes the B.Tech LL.B. programme reflects a broader shift towards interdisciplinary and future-ready legal education, offering students the skills needed to navigate the evolving demands of the technology-led economy.
