UGC NTA Result 2024 NTA Highlights: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the UGC NET Result 2024 soon. The NTA conducted the UGC NET June 2024 examination between August 21 and September 4, 2024, at multiple exam centers across the country. The exam was held in two shifts: Shift 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Shift 2 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

– Candidates in the unreserved category must achieve a minimum score of 40%, while those in the reserved category need at least 35%.
– For Paper 1 of the UGC NET, unreserved category candidates must score 40 out of 100, whereas reserved category candidates need 35 out of 100.
– In Paper 2, unreserved category candidates are required to obtain between 70 and 75 marks out of 200. Candidates from the OBC and EWS categories must achieve a minimum of 65 to 70 marks, SC candidates need 60 to 65 marks, and ST candidates should score between 55 and 60 marks.

According to the official website, for multi-shift exams, the raw marks obtained by candidates across different shifts or sessions will be converted into NTA scores (percentiles). These NTA scores from all shifts or sessions will be combined for further processing to determine allocation. If the percentiles across shifts vary, the lowest percentile will serve as the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates.
– 15% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
– 7.5% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
– 27% of seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates, as per the Central List.
– 10% of seats are reserved for candidates from the General-Economically Weaker Sections (General-EWS).
– Additionally, 5% of seats across all the above categories are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or more disability.

Each question in the UGC NET exam is valued at two marks. Candidates will receive two marks for each correct answer, and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses. Candidates must select only one option for each question.
If a question is deemed incorrect or contains multiple correct answers, all candidates who attempted the question and selected one of the correct options will receive full marks. In cases where a question is found to be incorrect and subsequently deleted, candidates who attempted that question will still be awarded two marks.

According to the Government of India‘s reservation guidelines, UGC-NET allocates 15% of seats for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% for OBC-NCL, and 10% for General-EWS candidates. Additionally, 5% of seats in each category are reserved for candidates with a disability of 40% or higher.
NET, SET, and SLET continue to be the minimum qualifications required for eligibility as an Assistant Professor in Indian institutions. Exemptions are provided according to UGC regulations outlined in the Gazette of India. Clearing these tests qualifies candidates for faculty positions in universities, ensuring uniformity and standards in the higher education sector.
Individuals who passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002, are eligible to seek Assistant Professor roles across the country without the compulsory UGC-NET qualification. Conversely, candidates who cleared the SET after this date are limited to applying for positions only within the state where they passed the SET, in accordance with UGC guidelines.
UGC-NET 2024 includes various subjects, each assigned a unique code. Candidates can download the syllabi for specific subjects from the UGC website, as printed copies are not provided. All study materials are accessible online for preparation.
