The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has released the HSE (+2) results for 2025, with an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.03%. Out of the 8.47 lakh students who appeared for the exams, 2,638 schools recorded a 100% pass rate. Notably, 9,536 students achieved full marks in Computer Science.

Students can now access their Class 12 marksheets through DigiLocker.

Out of the 7,513 schools that took part in the Tamil Nadu HSE +2 board exams this year, 2,638 schools have recorded a perfect 100% pass rate. This remarkable achievement highlights the consistent academic excellence maintained by a significant number of institutions across the state.

In the Tamil Nadu HSC exam, a total of 7,92,494 candidates appeared this year. Of these, 7,53,142 students have successfully passed, reflecting a strong overall performance and contributing to the state’s commendable pass percentage of 95.03%.

In the Tamil Nadu HSC examinations, girls have once again outperformed boys. The pass percentage among girls stands at an impressive 96.7%, compared to 93.16% for boys. This gender gap in performance continues a trend seen in recent years, reflecting stronger academic outcomes among female students across the state.

The Directorate of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu, has declared the results for the HSE (+2) Class 12 exams. This year, a total of 7,60,606 students appeared for the exam.

The board just have confirmed through it’s official website that TN plus 2 result will be declared by 9:15 AM. Students are advised to keep their documents and login credentials handy!

In 2024, the results were declared on May 6. Exams were held from March 1 to 22 that year. The overall pass percentage of 94.56% marked a slight improvement over 94.03% in 2023. The gradual increase in performance reflects the education department’s focus on quality education.

In 2023, a total of 7,60,606 students appeared for the Tamil Nadu HSE +2 exam. This was slightly lower than previous years — 8,03,385 in 2022, 8,06,277 in 2021, and 8,16,473 in 2020. Earlier figures include 7,79,931 students in 2020 and 8,42,512 in 2019.

The number of students appearing for TN HSC exams has been gradually declining. From 8.42 lakh in 2019, the count dropped to 7.6 lakh in 2024. Though 2021 saw a brief rise, the overall trend reflects a steady decrease in enrolment for Plus 2 public exams.

Before the main written exams, practical examinations were conducted from February 7 to 14, 2025. These practicals are crucial for Science and vocational stream students, as marks from lab work and viva voce contribute to the final subject scores.

In previous years, girls have consistently performed better than boys in Class 12 results. In 2024, the pass percentage among girls was 96.4%, while boys had a 92.4% pass rate. This trend of girls leading in academic performance is expected to continue this year as well.

Tamil Nadu has shown consistent academic performance in Class 12 exams. The pass percentages have remained above 93% for the past three years: 93.76% in 2022, 94.03% in 2023, and a slight rise to 94.56% in 2024. A similar performance is anticipated for 2025.

This year’s Tamil Nadu Class 12 board exams were conducted from March 3 to March 25, 2025. The schedule covered all academic streams including Science, Commerce, and Humanities, and was followed by centralized evaluation processes to ensure timely result declaration.

This number dropped to 7,79,931 in 2020, rose slightly to 8,16,473 in 2021 and then decreased again to 8,06,277 in 2022, 8,03,385 in 2023 and further down to 7,60,606 in 2024.

In 2024, the Tamil Nadu Board announced the HSC Plus Two results on May 6, following exams held from March 1 to 22. The overall pass percentage that year was 94.56%, showing a marginal rise from 94.03% in 2023. For the 2025 academic session, more than 8.2 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 public exams at 3,316 centres across the state.

The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, in the presence of School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, will announce the TN HSC Class 12 results 2025 on May 8 at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai. The results are expected to be declared at 9 am.
