The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has postponed the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2024 due to the upcoming general elections. In a notification released on Wednesday, the Authority announced the postponement of the medical entrance test originally scheduled for April 25th and 26th for disabled candidates.

The official notice stated,“Medical examination to UGCET-2024 Physically Disabled candidates scheduled to be conducted on 25-04-2024 and 26-04-2024 is postponed in view of Lok Sabha General Elections. Fresh dates for medical examination will be notified on the KEA Website shortly.”

Meanwhile, the UGCET 2024 exam for undergraduate candidates took place from April 18th to April 19th across exam centers in the state, divided into two shifts: morning from 10:30 am to 11:50 am and afternoon from 2:30 pm to 3:50 pm. Candidates have until April 27th to raise objections against KCET exam questions.

Originally scheduled for April 20th and 21st, the KCET exam was rescheduled due to a clash with the NDA exam. Moreover, the registration dates were extended multiple times, as per previous notices.

The registration process commenced on January 10th, but due to technical issues with the application server from January 13th to 17th, the deadline was pushed to February 20th. Subsequently, the registration window reopened from March 12th to 15th and again on March 30th.

Earlier, the State Examination Authority noted a significant number of candidates opting solely for NEET and neglecting to apply for the CET for engineering. The authority clarified that it would not issue admit cards to such candidates. Additionally, candidates were informed that they could edit their application forms after the exam had been conducted.
