The JEE Main Session 1 exam experienced an unprecedented turnout, with 8.22 lakh out of 8.6 lakh registered candidates appearing, constituting 95.79% attendance. This represents the highest participation rate ever recorded for the engineering entrance examination since it has been administered by the NTA.
The examination was monitored by a Central Control Room, which included 02 National Coordinators, 18 Regional Coordinators, 303 City Coordinators, 1083 Observers, 150 Technical Observers, and 162 Deputy Observers to ensure its efficient execution.

It has been determined that one section of each subject in Paper 1 and Part-I of Papers 2A and 2B will offer choices to accommodate varying syllabus reductions by different Boards across the country. Nevertheless, the total number of questions to be answered in the examination will remain unchanged (Physics – 25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), as appropriate.
In the first session of JEE Main 2024, the total number of registered candidates amounted to 8,20,000.
The JEE Main 2024 Session 1 final answer key will be released simultaneously with the publication of the JEE Main 2024 results. Anticipated to be unveiled on February 12th, the final answer key for JEE Main is eagerly awaited.
Following the announcement of the JEE Main 2024 results, successful candidates have several options:
JEE Advanced 2024: Candidates who qualify in JEE Main are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced examination, which is the next stage for admission to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top engineering institutions in India.
JoSAA Counseling: Candidates can opt to participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process. JoSAA is responsible for seat allocation in various participating institutes including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks.

The scoring system for calculating JEE Main scores using the official answer key prior to the release of the JEE Main 2024 result is as follows:
– Correct Response: +4 marks
– Incorrect Response: -1 mark
– Unanswered/Marked for Review: 0 marks
For each correct response, 4 marks are awarded. For each incorrect response, 1 mark is deducted. Unanswered questions or those marked for review do not incur any marks.
