Media and people often toss around the term “Artificial Intelligence (AI)” under the pretext of AI potentially altering the dynamics of business and employability, rendering the nature of the jobs endangered or worse extinct. Despite AI instilling fears of rendering people jobless, tech leaders instead have leveraged the same to transform the world.
With the recent developments in AI, it is deployed for several activities ranging from decision-making in finance, big data analytics in national security, and improving computational sophistication in healthcare. Like any other tech domain, AI has seeped its way into product design as well.
Product designing in itself is a broad concept from efficient and effective generation and development of ideas through a design process. As proclaimed by many businesses, it is a process of identifying a market opportunity, clearly defining the user’s needs and problem, developing a proper solution for that problem, and validating the solution with real users. Now AI is proving to be a game-changer for product designers to visualise and create unique and innovative products which are both time and cost-effective.
Using AI as a tool to streamline the design product process, product design professionals are now automating the tedious and laborious processes. It allows them to make decisions fueled by data more effectively. The term UX Designer is often used interchangeably with Product designer, but it is only a subcategory under the broader scope of product design. While Product designers are involved in the entire design process of a product, UX designers focus more on the hands-on design portion of the process. Nonetheless, they both predominantly deploy AI to manifest the refined versions of their ideas in front.
