The CBSE compartment results for 2023 were released separately, with the 10th supplementary results announced on August 4, 2023, and the 12th supplementary results on August 1, 2023.
132337 students, or 5.91 per cent of the student body, were assigned to the CBSE 10th compartment exams in 2024. The number of students in compartments during the previous academic year was 134774, or 6.22 per cent.

Following the release of the yearly results, CBSE administered the compartment exams to students who wanted to raise their grades. Class 10 compartment exams were administered by CBSE from July 15 to July 22, 2024, and class 12 exams were administered on July 15, 2024. The exams took place from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in a single shift.
