Bhavan’s College, a Mumbai based college Of Commerce has launched the Management School of Events, Entertainment and Design (MSEED) in Andheri West, Mumbai, with an aim to nurture the next generation of creative business leaders, according to an official press release. 

MSEED is helmed by Deepak Chaudhary as Managing Director, a distinguished name in the event industry and the founder of India’s premier event school and  EVA Live. On the academic front, Prof. Ujjwal K. Chowdhury, a renowned media academician and former Dean of Symbiosis, Amity, Pearl Academy, and Whistling Woods, has taken charge as the Director General, the release mentioned. 

The leadership team also includes Joint MD Vinod Janardhan, founder of Team Rustic; Director Jimmy Choudhary, who leads Eventfaqs and WOW Awards; Executive Director Jateen Rajput, an experienced event management academician; and media entrepreneurs Chirag Shah and Mustafa Rangoonwala.

Principal of Bhavan’s College, Zarine Bathena, welcomed MSEED as the newest addition to the college’s academic ecosystem, hoping it would follow the successful trajectory of institutions like SP Jain Management School and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology.

MSEED will offer Mumbai University-approved Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in events, media, and design. Additionally, it will provide advanced PG Diplomas in events, entertainment, communication, and fashion business management. Postgraduate students will also have the option to pursue a dual MBA degree from UniMarconi University of Rome, with all programs set to commence in July 2025, as per the release.

“A great institute requires strong infrastructure, recognition, and an industry-driven learning ecosystem. Bhavan’s College provides all three, positioning MSEED to make a significant contribution to India’s creative soft power,” said Deepak Chaudhary during his inaugural address.

Ashish Kulkarni emphasised the economic significance of the events and experiential marketing industry, suggesting its potential turnover could surpass that of television and cinema when combined with animation and gaming-based entertainment.

MSEED also plans to launch a nationwide campaign to promote awareness of the creative business landscape in events, media, and design, aiming to shape the future of the industry through education and innovation.
