Rajasthan Election 2023 Highlights: Rajasthan recorded a voter turnout of 70.35 per cent, as per provisional data provided by Election Commission of India. Nearly 10 per cent of the electorate cast their votes in the first two hours of voting and the figure went up to nearly 25 per cent by 11 am and to more than 40 per cent by 1 pm. Till 3 PM over 55 per cent voter turnout was recorded. By 5 pm, the voter turnout was recorded at 68.24 per cent. Polling in 199 assembly constituencies in the state began at 7 AM and concluded at 6 PM. On Saturday, polling is being held in 199 out of the 200 assembly constituencies in the state. Polling in the Karanpur assembly constituency in Sriganganagar has been postponed due to the death of the Congress candidate and sitting MLA Gurmeet Singh Koonar. More than 5.25 crore voters will decide the fate of 1,862 candidates in these 199 seats. The votes will be counted on December 3.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that polling stations have been set up at a total of 36,101 places in the state and live webcasting will be conducted at a total of 26,393 polling stations.

Rajyavardhan Rathore remarks, “In the last five years, Rajasthan has witnessed the most unfortunate display of divisive politics. Their self-serving actions have led both their party and the state into a pit. This is the outcome of Congress’ governance. The Congress party lacks both vision and determination, and we are concerned about the well-being of the people of Rajasthan. The outcome will be apparent on December 3rd, and some in Congress might be surprised. However, the prevailing momentum is in favor of the BJP.”
On the day of voting in Rajasthan, Congress leader Sachin Pilot expresses confidence, stating, “I am optimistic that the Congress will secure another opportunity in the state. We anticipate obtaining the necessary numbers to establish the government. The people here are inclined to vote for those who deliver on their promises and remain dedicated.”
Rajasthan comprises 200 assembly seats; however, polling is taking place for 199 seats. The election for the Karanpur seat in Sriganganagar district has been deferred due to the unfortunate demise of the Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
Voters are exercising their franchise at 51,507 polling booths across Rajasthan. There are a total of 5,25,38,105 voters distributed among the 199 assembly constituencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to post about Rajasthan Assembly Election. Seeking high voter turnout, Modi said that Rajasthan should make a record today. He also congratulated those voting for the first time.
