Rajasthan election 2018 LIVE Updates:The campaign in Rajasthan has ended today, with the state to go on polls on December 7. Since last few days, the state has seen hundreds of election rallies and road shows. Total number od 2,274 candidates are in the fray which also include 189 women for 199 out of a total 200 constituencies. Recently, the polling in Alwar district’s Ramgarh constituency was postponed due to the death of the Bahujan Samaj Party candidate.
“Electioneering ended at 5 pm today. Polling will take place from 8 am to 5 pm on December 7 in 199 constituencies,” Rajasthan’s chief electoral officer Anand Kumar said as per PTI. He added that proper security arrangements have been made for free and fair assembly elections in Rajasthan. There are 4.77 crore registered voters in the state. The campaign had seen issues related to Hindutva, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi sparred over ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ slogans,among others.

The campaign also raised issues related to Hindutva, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi sparred over 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans, and there was a row over the caste of Lord Hanuman. Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and several other Union ministers campaigned in the state, which the Bharatiya Janata Party is fighting to retain.

During his speech PM Modi further said, as per ANI, "You would've seen that we've caught a 'raazdaar' of chopper scam and brought him here. The entire family is now scared of the things which will be revealed. They are scared as to whose name will he take if he opens his mouth".

Taking on the Gandhi family a day after the Supreme Court ordered that IT cases against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi be reopened, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here Wednesday that his government had scored a win thanks to the courage of a 'chaiwala'.

Amit Shah informed that BJP conducted 15 roadshows and 222 big meetings across Rajasthan in the run-up to the Assembly polls. Speaking about rallies of the Prime Minister, he said that the crowd attending his rallies tell people are happy under his leadership and want to see the BJP again in power.
Amit Shah said that the BJP under leadership of Vasundhara Raje, the BJP has transformed the state from 'bimaru' to developed. 'We will now make Rajasthan prosperous,' the BJP chief told reporters in Jaipur.
On opposition's charge that extradition of Christian Michel was a diversionary tactic of BJP, Amit Shah said, “Opposition has no other issue, what is wrong if we nabbed the middleman? Does the opposition want to save him?” Michel was brought to Delhi late last night from UAE. He was among a few wanted people by probe agencies in India in connection with VVIP Chopper scam.

Addressing the media in Jaipur, BJP president Amit Shah said, "I am sure we will form government in the state (Rajasthan) with full majority with Vasundhara ji as the Chief Minister. People in the state have rejected caste and dynasty politics of Congress."

As per the schedule, Modi will address an election rally in Sumerpur town of Pali district at around 12 noon and then travel to Dausa to address another rally at 3 pm. On Tuesday, Modi had addressed three elections rallies in Mahendragarh, Sikar and Jaipur.
Tonk Assembly seat is has a dominance of Muslim voters. The seat has around 50,000 Muslim voters, 30,000 Gujjars, 35,000 SC and 15,000 Mali community voters. The Congress has fielded its state unit president Sachin Pilot from here. This is first time when Pilot is contesting Assembly polls. Amid rage and rancour over Rajasthan assembly polls slated to be held on December 7, the Tonk seat, 110 km from Jaipur, has a unique battle. In Tonk, the erstwhile city of nawabs, Congress' state chief Sachin Pilot takes on BJP's Yunus Khan. And both come from outside the constituency. Pilot is from neighbouring Ajmer while Khan belongs to Deedwana (Nagaur). Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit out at Narendra Modi at a rally in Alwar on Tuesday over his style of beginning his speeches with chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. Hours after PM Narendra Modi slammed the Congress at an election rally for overlooking the sentiments of Sikhs by letting Kartarpur Sahib go to Pakistan during partition, the Congress hit back as it ridiculed Modi for speaking without knowing facts.
