Rajasthan Assembly Election Results 2023 Live News (December 3): BJP is consolidating its lead, as per the Election Commission of India numbers. While the early trends show saffron party crossing the halfway mark early trends, the official numbers as per the Election Commission of India also show its advantage BJP. The BJP is maintaining a healthy lead on 104 seats in Rajasthan, as per the trends. According to ECI, the BJP is leading on 86 seats. While Ashok Gehlot is leading from Sardarpura, Sachin Pilot is trailing from Tonk. The Congress is distant second when it comes to overall tally. The Grand Old Party is leading on nearly 60 seats, as per the ECI.
The counting of votes began across 36 designated centres in Rajasthan at 8 am today. The Assembly Elections in five states, which is being termed as the ‘semi-final’ to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, commenced on November 7, 2023 and concluded on November 30, 2023. Rajasthan went to polls on November 25 last month.
The assembly elections were held in a single phase across 199 seats out of the 200 seats. The Election Commission of India had to postpone the poll in one constituency due to the death of a Congress candidate in Karanpur (Sriganganagar district).
Will Ashok Gehlot come back in power again? The ‘rivaaj’ is at stake in Rajasthan. A big question lingers over Ashok Gehlot beating anti-incumbency and remaining in power. Gehlot has been elected in power thrice earlier non-consecutively and if he is elected in the 2023 assembly elections, he will buck the trend and will be in power for the fourth time.
Ashok Gehlot enjoys immense people connect and he is confident that he will be elected again with huge numbers.
However, BJP has campaigned relying on PM Narendra Modi’s magic who led the party’s campaign with two mega roadshows. He also covered around 104 seats with 14 public rallies.

The chief ministerial candidate of BJP will also be unveiled in this result. It is an interesting turn as the public will witness BJP solving the Vasundhara Raje puzzle whose name was stopped short as the chief ministerial candidate of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan has always voted the anti-incumbent candidate to power which has mostly been either from Congress or from BJP since 1998. Rajasthan witnessed a robust voter turnout of 75 per cent in the 2023 assembly elections. The polling mostly remained peaceful however some incidents of violence were reported in Deeg and Sikar’s Fatehpur.
The Rajasthan BJP chief states, “Over the past five years, the Congress has plundered and deceived the people with false promises. Consequently, the public has chosen to bid farewell to them and usher in the BJP to assume power.”

With one counting center per 30 election districts, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Nagaur each have two counting centers.
The initial trends of Rajasthan Assembly Elections show that BJP is leading over the Congress. Several TV channels indicated that the BJP was leading in 100 seats, while the Congress was leading in 85. However, according to the Election Commission website, the Congress was leading in four seats, and the BJP in one in Rajasthan.
District Election Officer Himanshu Gupta states, “The strong rooms have been unlocked, and the postal ballots have been delivered to the Vidhan Sabha constituencies. They are being unveiled in the presence of candidates and agents. The situation remains peaceful across all areas thus far, with all political agents present in their designated constituencies.”

The Congress is maintaining a good early lead in ahead in Telangana and Chhattisgarh, latest reports say.
Apart from Rajasthan, the counting is underway in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh. The BJP is maintaining a healthy lead in Madhya Pradesh as well.
Latest reports of early trends of postal ballot counting shows that incumbent Ashok Gehlot is leading from Sardarpura.
According to the latest reports, the trends on 27 seats of Rajasthan are in. The BJP is leading on 17 seats with the Congress on distant second with lead on 12 seats.

The counting process for 199 Assembly constituencies will commence at 8 AM, starting with postal ballots. EVM counting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 AM.
More than 1,800 candidates are contesting for 199 seats in Rajasthan, a state where political control has shifted between the Congress and the BJP every five years over the past three decades.
Before the election results, Rajasthan minister and Congress leader BD Kalla confidently states, “I am confident that I will secure the mandate of the people of Bikaner and secure a seat in the Legislative Assembly. Congress is poised to form the government in the state once again.”
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari says that the party is certain of forming a government in Rajasthan along with four other states.
The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly’s five-year term is set to conclude on January 14, 2024. Elections took place on November 25, 2023, covering 199 out of the 200 constituencies in Rajasthan in a single-phase. The Election Commission of India has deferred the polls for the remaining seat.
The Rajasthan Legislative Assembly comprises 200 seats. In the 2018 elections, the Indian National Congress secured 100 seats. However, elections in the Ramgarh constituency were canceled, leaving one seat vacant. In 2019, six MLAs from the Bahujan Samaj Party joined the Congress, increasing the party’s seats to 105. Additionally, the Congress gained two more seats through by-elections in October 2019. Subsequently, in 2021, the Congress emerged victorious in the Dhariawad constituency by-polls, bringing their total seats to 108.
In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections, the Indian National Congress emerged victorious, securing 100 seats, leading to the appointment of Ashok Gehlot as the Chief Minister. The Bharatiya Janata Party secured the second position with 73 seats.
