After what many thought looked as a date between Times Now editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the latter is all set to feature in a second interview on television. CNN News 18 will tonight broadcast PM Modi’s exclusive interview which will yet again grab a thousand eyeballs and might just bring the nation to a standstill more than the Bharat Bandh did today.
What is PM Modi expected to say today?
This one question is what will bring many people close to their respective television sets. Now that the Prime Minister has met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, he might talk about the unrest in the Valley and how the Centre is dealing with it.
What invited widespread reactions from everybody was Prime Minister’s mention of Balochistan in his Independence Day speech. When an Indian Prime Minister brought a Pakistani-administered province in his speech, it not just offended people, a vast population has even showed its support for it.
The issue of atrocities committed against the Dalit community might be discussed in detail. Earlier, the Prime Minister had said, “if you want to shoot a Dalit, shoot me first,” considering this one can hope for a pro-Dalit litany from him.
While Urijit Patel is set to take the chair of the Governor at the Reserve Bank of India, the Prime Minister is bound to say a few words in praise of him and the outgoing governor Raghuram Rajan.
The issue of minority communities and Dalits have apparently always been close to the heart of our Prime Minister, observing that, this second interview might feature a lot about his upcoming schemes and how the schemes launched hitherto have made a difference in the lives of people living in India. Like a report card of the NDA government was presented on the 70th Independence Day, a similar portrayal can be expected tonight as well.
Since the Uttar Pradesh elections are in the offing, one can expect a fair amount of ‘party agenda’ also being endorsed during the interview.
However, little should you expect anything political to come from PM Modi. He is wise with his words and as we have learnt from his last interview, “you must have not heard anything political from me, I am an apolitical person”
