PM Modi News Highlights: In his first visit to Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 five years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting and unveiled multiple development projects worth more than Rs 6,400 crore in Srinagar on Thursday.

The Prime Minister attended the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ programme at the Bakshi stadium in Srinagar. He launched 43 projects that will develop a wide range of pilgrimage and tourist sites across the country. While addressing the public, he said, ” I promise that the development works in J&K will not stop at any cost.”

Meanwhile, stringent security arrangements were put in place, and the Bakshi Stadium, the venue of the prime minister’s rally, was draped in tricolour, PTI reported. The preparations for PM Modi’s visit involved the biggest security exercise in recent times. Thousands of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed across Srinagar.

In a step that will provide a major boost to the agri-economy of the region, ‘Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ (HADP) to be launched by the Prime Minister. The official statement stated that it will cover the full spectrum of activities in three major domains of horticulture, agriculture and livestock husbandry.
