Columbia University Economics professor Arvind Panagariya has said the economy could return to a 6.5 per cent rate of growth in FY 15, but declined to speculate about any role he could play in the new government after polls.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Panagariya, who is expected to become an economic advisor if the NDA comes to power, listed the possible areas which the government can work on, including appointing a ?pragmatic? environment minister and fixing the financial health of banks.
He also emphasised the ?real challenge? of creating good jobs in the organised sector.
