Kashmir Pahalgam Terror Attack Highlights: Pakistan’s ambassador in Moscow has asked Russia to help reduce tensions with India after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 people. In an interview with the TASS news agency, Ambassador Mohammad Khalid Jamali said Russia has strong ties with both India and Pakistan. He suggested that Russia could act as a mediator, like it did in 1966 during the Tashkent talks, when the Soviet leader helped stop a war between the two countries.

Meanwhile, India on May 3, placed an immediate ban on all goods coming from or sent out by Pakistan, whether directly or indirectly, no matter what their import status was. This has stopped all trade between the two countries, as per a notice from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The ban is based on rules from the Foreign Trade Act of 1992 and the Foreign Trade Policy of 2023. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has also restricted Indian-flagged ships from docking at any port in Pakistan.

Pahalgam terror attack: ‘Befitting reply to those who cast evil eye on India,’ says Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday stated that it is his duty to work closely with the armed forces to give a “befitting reply” who have an evil eye towards India. His comments come after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Speaking at an event, Singh said that people are well aware of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership style and his willingness to take bold steps when needed. He assured the audience that the government will take the actions that the people expect—though he did not go into detail.

His remarks come at a time when India is considering how to respond to Pakistan, as investigators look into possible cross-border links to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people, most of them tourists. Singh said that as Defence Minister, he is responsible for protecting the nation and giving a strong reply to any attempts to harm it.
