India Pakistan Tensions Highlights: India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Saturday confirmed multiple ceasefire violations by the Pakistani military, declaring that the Indian Army will respond “adequately and appropriately.” Misri condemned the intrusions, holding Pakistan fully responsible and urging it to “understand the gravity of the situation and act immediately to stop the aggression.”

In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday claimed its forces were “handling the situation with responsibility and restraint,” while accusing India of breaching the ceasefire agreement. The two countries had agreed to halt military operations across land, air, and sea following a ceasefire deal announced by US. President Donald Trump, who said the talks were mediated by the United States. This was later confirmed by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

Despite the agreement, tensions remain high. Drones have reportedly been sighted across Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat’s Kutch region, Punjab, and Rajasthan. India’s air defence systems have intercepted several unmanned aerial vehicles, while sirens and blackouts have been enforced in several districts, urging residents to stay indoors.

Meanwhile, India has stated that the Indus Waters Treaty remains suspended and that a ban on visas for Pakistani nationals continues. At a joint press briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Defence, Air Commodore Raghu Nair stressed that while the ceasefire agreement is in place, “India remains prepared to defend its sovereignty at all times.”
