A 32-year-old man was shot dead by bike-borne assailants in broad daylight in Sector 104 of Noida on Friday, reported The Indian Express.
The deceased has been identified as Suraj Bhan, who was living in a high-rise in Sector 100. The incident took place at around 2.30-3 PM. Bhan, who was working as a crew member with Air India, is survived by his wife and a four-year-old daughter.
Police said that Bhan was sitting in his car after a workout session at Anytime Fitness Gym in Sector 104 market when he was shot at, leading to his death on the spot. The incident happened under the jurisdiction limits of Sector 39 police station.
DCP Noida Harish Chander said that police rushed to the spot and he was declared dead at the hospital where his body was sent for post-mortem. Four teams have been formed for probe in the case, he added.
Police said that they are checking CCTV footage of the area to track the accused.
Police said that three unidentified miscreants fired bullets at him, and he received five bullet injuries.
An FIR has been registered against the unidentified accused.
Although the reason behind the murder is not clear yet, sources told IE that it could be the work of rivals of Bhan’s brother Sagar, who has been in jail for the past three years. Sagar was allegedly involved in the killing of two men of another gang.
Sagar was booked under the Gangster Act and Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in the past.
