Senior BJP leaders, newly-elected MPs, and allies have endorsed Narendra Modi as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday. The support came during a meeting in the Parliament’s central hall aimed at formulating the Cabinet.

BJP MP Rajnath Singh formally nominated Modi for the positions of Leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party, Leader of the NDA Parliamentary Party and Leader of the Lok Sabha. “We are fortunate to have a Prime Minister as sensitive as Modi ji… I want to emphasize that this alliance is not an obligation for us but a promise,” Singh stated.

Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu expressed his support and praised Modi’s relentless campaigning efforts. “We extend our congratulations as we have achieved a remarkable majority. Throughout the election campaign, I observed Prime Minister Modi’s tireless efforts. He campaigned tirelessly for three months, day and night, with unwavering determination. In Andhra Pradesh, our series of public meetings and a major rally had a significant impact on our electoral success,” Naidu said.

At the alliance meeting, Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar also supported Modi’s name as leader of NDA bloc. “It is a very good thing that all of us have come together and we will all work together with you (PM Modi). You will be swearing in as the Prime Minister on Sunday, but I wanted you to do it today itself. Whenever you take the oath, we will be with you…We will all work together under your leadership,” Kumar affirmed.

Other leaders of the NDA bloc including Eknath Shinde, Chirag Paswan, Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel and Jan Sena’s Pawan Kalyan also expressed support for Modi.
