Parvesh Shahib Singh Verma has emerged as BJP’s giant slayer, defeating Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency. In what can be easily termed as a tight contest, Parvesh Verma has won a total of 28,448 seats.
Kejriwal has lost the vote by over 2000 votes and had garnered a total of 24583. The other key contender for the seat included Sandeep Dikshit from Congress. He is the son of Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s former chief minister. He garnered 4254 votes.

Parvesh Shahib Singh Verma is the son of BJP’s veteran leader and former Delhi CM, Shahib Singh Verma. Sahib Singh Verma. His political journey started in 2013 Assembly Polls when he contested from Mundka constituency. Additionally, he had won the National Elections twice in 2014 and 2019.
During his stint as MP, Verma was part of several key Committees including the Standing Committee on Urban Development, Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of MPs. He was even part of the governing body of AIIMS
Parvesh Verma has courted controversy many times in his political tenure. He was a prominent BJP member taking forward the party’s initiatives during the protests against the CAA or the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Delhi. His rather inflammatory remarks against minorities dominated news headlines.
