Lok Sabha Elections Phase 4: Voting for the fourth phase Lok Sabha election began at 7 am and has now concluded. A total of 96 seats spread across 10 states and Union Territories are up for grabs with 1,717 candidates in fray. Along with this simultaneously, voting was also held in 175 Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh and 28 Assembly seats in Odisha. Polling took place across 13 in Uttar Pradesh, five in Bihar, four in Jharkhand, eight in Madhya Pradesh, 11 in Maharashtra, four in Odisha, eight in West Bengal, and one in Jammu and Kashmir. All 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh and 17 seats in Telangana completed polling in a single phase today.

Key candidates in the fray included Akhilesh Yadav, Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Asaduddin Owaisi as well as Mahua Moitra. Issues such as reservations, appeasement politics, corruption, and jobs dominated the narratives in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. Polling for the next three phases is scheduled for May 20, May 25, and June 1, with vote counting set for June 4. The earlier three phases saw voter turnout of 66.14, 66.7, and 65.68 per cent, respectively.
