The Shiv Sena (UBT) Uddhav Thackery faction on Wednesday released its first list of candidates in Maharashtra for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with senior leader Anil Desai nominated for the Mumbai South Central parliamentary constituency.

Taking to X, party leader Sanjay Raut announced the list of candidates, which included contenders for constituencies such as Raigad, Ratnagiri, Thane, Parbhani, Buldhana, Yavatmal, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Shirdi, South Mumbai, North West Mumbai, North East Mumbai, Sangli, Hingoli, Dharashiv, Nasik, and Maval.

“With the permission of Uddhav Thackeray, we have announced 17 candidates for the Lok Sabha seats today. We are contesting 22 seats. The remaining candidates of Palghar, Hatkanangale, Kalyan-Dombivli and Mumbai North will be announced in 24 hours or two days,” Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said.

Arvind Sawant, the incumbent MP, has been selected to run for re-election from the South Mumbai constituency, while Amol Kirtikar will contest from Mumbai North West, a seat previously held by his father, Gajanan Kirtikar. Kirtikar’s candidacy is notable amid an ED summons related to the Khichdi scam.
