Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 6 Highlights: An approximate voter turnout of 61.76 per cent was recorded in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday across 58 constituencies spanning six states and two Union territories. West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout percentage at 80.06 per cent. While incidents of minor clashes and protests were reported from West Bengal, instances of EVM malfunctioning were observed in some places, including Delhi. The Election Commission said that at 52.28 per cent till 7.45 pm, the polling percentage in the Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir was the highest in many decades. With the conclusion of this phase, polling has been completed in 486 seats across 28 states and Union territories. The last phase of polling will be on June 1, and vote counting will be on June 4.

Polling will be held in 58 parliamentary constituencies across eight States/UTs. Haryana and NCT of Delhi. Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal will also vote today. Polling for 42 Assembly Constituencies for the Odisha State Legislative Assembly will also take place simultaneously.

The Lok Sabha election voting is taking place in multiple phases across various parliamentary constituencies. The first phase, held on April 19, encompassed 102 constituencies, with a voter turnout of 66.14%. This was followed by the second phase on April 26, covering 89 constituencies, where the turnout was recorded at 66.71%. The third phase, conducted on May 7 across 94 parliamentary constituencies, witnessed a turnout of 65.68%. Subsequently, the fourth phase on May 13 involved 96 parliamentary constituencies, with a final turnout of 69.16%. The fifth phase, which took place on May 20, encompassed 49 parliamentary constituencies across six states and two Union Territories, recording a turnout of 62.2%. Results will to be announced on June 4.
