Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the people of the nation would teach the saffron party a stern lesson in the upcoming polls.

Referrring to the ongoing protest by farmers, Akhilesh slammed the BJP-led Centre and accused the government of “deceiving” farmers. Yadav commended the government for awarding the Bharat Ratna to late farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh but contrasted it with the Centre’s “dictatorial” approach when tear gas shells are used against protesting farmers are they are lathi-charged.

He further cited the government’s actions such as hammering nails into the vehicles of farmers as evidence of the “dictatorial” approach. “The BJP government merely talks about farmers but does not bring out any law on MSP for the benefit of the farmers. The Centre’s promise to double farmers’ income has proven hollow,” said Yadav.

Akhilesh also claimed that the Samajwadi party will secure more than 50 seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “BJP wants to cut the votes of their own MPs in the state and is forced to change the constituencies of their MPs,” he further claimed.

“There are ‘conspiracies’ at the foundation of those who rule us. They do not have a moment of peace in their eyes,” Yadav said in a post on ‘X’.
