Congress-led UDF gains momentum in Kerala as CM Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF faces huge loss on the grounds.

NDA is also making inroads as it leads on 4 local bodies.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Sunny Joseph said that UDF is heading towards a historic victory and that the people have completely rejected the ruling side.

The BJP is leading from Thiruvananthapuram corporation, and it is likely to win the key seat as per current trends.

In Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, UDF’s K S Sabarinathan won in Kowdiar ward.

Former DGP (IPS officer) and BJP candidate R Sreelekha has emerged victorious from Thiruvananthapuram.

Kollam mayor Honey Benjamin, LDF candidate, has been defeated in Vadakkumbhagam division of Kollam Corporation.

UDF candidate has won.

Congress-led UDF is leading in 4 of the six corporations: Kollam, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kannur.

NDA is leading in Thiruvananthapuram and LDF in Kozhikode.

Of 14 districts, the CPI(M)-led LDF is leading overall in 7: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kannur.

The Congress-led UDF is leading on other seven districts: Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kasaragod.

3-tier Grama Panchayat (17337): LDF leads on 4296 wards, UDF on 4193.

Block Panchayat (2267): LDF is leading on 758 wards while Congress-led UDF is ahead on 847 wards.

District Panchayat (346): LDF is leading on 147 wards, and UDF is ahead on 180 wards.

Municipality (3240): With a lead on 1125 wards, UDF is ahead of LDF (leads on 857 wards)

Corporation (421): LDF is ahead on 96 wards and UDF on 149.

The BJP-led NDA is leading on 992 Grama Panchayat wards, 78 Block Panchayat wards and 249 municipality wards. It is ahead on 14 wards in corporations.

LDF has taken a lead by around 20 wards in Thiruvanathpuram.

According to the Trends by the State Election Commission, Kerala, UDF-led by the Congress is leading on 387 wards, LDF led by CPI(M) is leading on 283 wards, NDA led by the BJP is leading on 71 wards, and Others are leading on 59 wards in the Kerala local body elections.

The Congress-led UDF is now leading in four of the six corporations. The LDF is leading in only one.

Municipalities: The LDF leads in 48 of the 87 seats. LDF in 30, and the BJP-led NDA in 1

Of the 1,200 local bodies, the LDF has taken a majority on 121. The UDF is leading with a majority in 96 local bodies.

In Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi’s Wayanad, the NDA has made in roads by winning 2 wards.

Congress-led UDF won 18 wards while the ruling LDF is not far behind as it won 16 wards.

The counting is underway.

The Kerala local body elections were held across 14 districts. These are: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakula, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod

Municipality (3240): UDF wins 190 wards and LDF wins 130is ahead of UDF (leads on 195 wards)

Corporation (421): LDF is ahead on 24 wards and UDF on 18. NDA bags 32

Postal vote counting is underway in Thrissur. A total of 244 such counting centres have been set up in the state.

The counting of votes for Kerala’s 1,199 local bodies is underway across 244 counting centres in the state. Initially, the postal ballots were counted and then the EVM votes were taken up.

The results have also started coming in on the official state election commission’s Trend portal.

Congress-led UDF has win 40 wards in municipality, while ruling LDG bagged 35 wards.

Grama Panchayat (17337): LDF leads on 411 wards, UDF on 344.

Block Panchayat (2267): LDF is leading on 51 wards while Congress-led UDF is ahead on 35 wards

District Panchayat (346): Here also, LDF is leading on 13 wards, but the UDF is not far behind. The alliance is leading on 10 wards

Municipality (3240): With a lead on 225 wards, LDF is ahead of UDF (leads on 195 wards)

Corporation (421): LDF is ahead on 24 wards and UDF on 18.

The BJP-led NDA is leading on 94 Grama Panchayat wards and 60 municipality wards.

On Kerala local body election 2025, BJP leader Shaun George said they are confident the saffron party will secure a good margin in the central Kerala belt.

“…we will also achieve a strong victory this time in South Kerala. People who have traditionally depended on the UDF and Kerala Congress will shift their support to the BJP this time…” he added.

Counting has begun and early trends show tough contest between LDF and UDF. LDF is leading on 88 gram panchayat while UDF is ahead on 77.
