Kashmiri separatists are not going to have easy days ahead. According to reports, the Centre is preparing a plan to send a tough message to the separatists who appear to be more sympathetic towards Pakistan and display a chronic apathy towards India and its Constitution.
Amidst ongoing unrest in the Valley, the separatists have refused to pay heed to the government’s efforts to involve them in talks, the recent being their refusal to meet the ALL Party Delegation led by Rajnath Singh. PM Narendra Modi government at the Centre has apparently not taken the snub lightly.
Quoting official sources, The Indian Express reports that the Union government may consider reducing the security cover provided to separatists, put an end to facilitating their travel outside India or their accommodation in state guest houses or bearing their medical expense. Besides, the government may even consider withdrawal of their passports and scrutiny of their bank accounts and completion of their pending enquiry.

A decision in this regard would be taken by the Union Home Minister after consultations with other senior leaders.
J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti has also hit out at the separatists, saying they were pushing “children of the poor into protests” while their own children study in places like Malaysia, Dubai, Bangalore and Rajasthan.
“If a single child of these people has been injured in the protests, I am ready to quit politics,” she said at a function in the city,” IE quoted Mufti as saying.
