India Weather News Highlights: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours in the state. A rain warning has also been issued for Sirmaur, Solan, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una, Mandi, Kangra and some parts of the Kullu district for Tuesday. The Chandigarh-Manali highway was reopened for traffic on Monday evening after remaining closed for almost 24 hours owing to landslides and flash floods.
Meanwhile, the Char Dham Yatra has been halted due to bad weather en route to Kedarnath and Badrinath, informed Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. “Snowfall, rains and landslides have occurred at various places and traffic has been disrupted due to the same. We appeal to travellers coming for Char Dham Yatra to continue their journey once the weather clears up,” Dhami was quoted saying by news agency ANI.

Heavy rain triggered a flash flood in Himachal Pradesh that led to the blocking of Tandi-Killar State Highway-26 in Dared Nala, news agency ANI reported.
“Today, on 27/06/2023 at 07:50 am, according to the information received from the District Disaster Management Authority Lahaul-Spiti, Pangi-Killar Highway (SH-26) has been blocked due to a flash flood in Dared Nala,” SDRF of Himachal Pradesh tweeted.

The Chandigarh-Manali national highway was restored for traffic on Monday night after remaining closed for almost 24 hours owing to landslides and flash floods, officials said.
Hundreds of commuters, including tourists, were stranded in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district as the highway was blocked since Sunday evening. The 70-km Mandi-Pandoh-Kullu stretch of the highway was blocked at Khotinallah near Aut, about 40 km from Mandi town, following flash floods while the Mandi-Pandoh stretch was blocked near 7 Miles after a landslide.
Light to moderate rains continued to lash several parts of Himachal Pradesh and the MeT office has issued a warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places on June 28 and 29 and thunderstorms and lightning on June 30 and July 1. (PTI)

Heavy rain lashed parts of Pune in Maharashtra on Tuesday morning. The Met Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls in isolated parts of Maharashtra on June 27.

“Active monsoon conditions are likely to continue over East-central, Northwest & West India over the next 4-5 days and the Southwest monsoon is likely to advance further into some more parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and the remaining parts of the Western Himalayan Region today, June 26,” the IMD said.

Meanwhile, weather office in Delhi has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday and forecast generally cloudy skies with moderate rain or thundershowers in the city, news agency ANI reported.
