Gyanvapi Case Hearing Live Updates, Gyanvapi Masjid Case Latest News: The Varanasi district court will hear today arguments on maintainability of a plea by five Hindu women seeking permission seeking permission for daily worship of the Shringar Gauri Sthal in the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex. On May 26, District Government Counsel Rana Sanjeev Singh had said that the Muslim side’s arguments on the maintainability of the case had remained incomplete.
The court had on Tuesday fixed May 26 for the hearing of arguments on the maintainability of the plea filed by the five Hindu women who have sought round-the-year access to pray at the Shringar Gauri Sthal in the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi complex. The Muslim side has argued that the plea is not maintainable as the Places of Worship Act 1991 prohibits conversion of any place of worship and mandates the maintenance of the religious character of any place of worship as it existed on August 15, 1947.

Caranasi District Court is hearing the Order 7 Rule 11 CPC application filed by Anjuman Intezemia Masjid Committee seeking rejection of the plaint filed by Hindu women as barred by the Places of Worship Act, 1991.
On plea seeking seeking permission to worship the deities reportedly found in the Gyanvapi Masjid, Civil Judge Senior Division / Fast Track Court Mahendra Pandey has reserved the order on the maintainability of the suit. The order will be pronounced at 4 pm, reports Live Law.
Meanwhile, a fast-track court in Varanasi will hear two fresh petitions filed in the Gyanvapi Mosque case. While one has sought permission for Hindus to worship the “Shivling” purportedly found in the mosque complex, the second demanded that Adi Vishveshwara be declared owner of Gyanvapi and that Hindus get right to pray.
The petition — filed by advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay through advocate Ashwani Kumar Dubey — stated that property vested in deity continues to be the deity’s property irrespective of the fact that any person has taken illegal possession and offering namaz.
