AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj has lost the constituency seat by 3188 votes. BJP‘s Shikha Rai has won the election by 49594 votes, as per ECI data.

The seat has 187,873 voters — 98,891 men, 88,973 women, and nine people from the third gender.

BJP MLA candidate from Greater Kailash, Shikha Rai said that the BJP will form the government with a huge majority.

“The allegations levelled by the AAP are proof that they are losing the elections… The people of Delhi also want development like the other states that have a double-engin e government…,” she said as quoted by ANI.

Greater Kailash is home to affluent markets and upscale residential areas. However, critical issues like irregular water, sewage woes, poor traffic management, narrow and dug-up streets, parking issues, and waterlogging affects the lives of the voters.

Saurabh Bharadwaj of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest for a third consecutive term from the Greater Kailash constituency. Bharadwaj has been a two-time MLA and a key figure in AAP’s governance. He will face tough competition from Shikha Rai of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Meanwhile, Garvit Singhvi of the Congress will also be in the fray, attempting to revive the party’s presence in the constituency.

The total number of valid votes polled during the 2020 Delhi Assembly Elections was 1,08,085 or 66.69 per cent in the Greater Kailash Constituency.

As counting of votes is underway, early trends (TIMES NOW) suggest AAP Candidate Saurabh Bhardwaj is leading in the constituency.

Ahead of the results, AAP Candidate Saurabh Bhardwaj maintained that the Arvind Kejriwal government has served people in the last 10 years and Kejriwal will become the CM of Delhi for a fourth time. “One whom the public supports, he wins the elections,” he told PTI.
