NDA crossed the majority mark today, as per the TV channels and commenting on this Union Minister and HAM(S) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi said that the results were in line with their expectations. He noted that the alliance had always been confident of forming the government with a strong majority and that Nitish Kumar would return as Chief Minister. Based on current trends, he predicted the NDA could reach around 160 seats, while estimating the Mahagathbandhan may end up near 70–80 seats.

According to the Election Commission, the current data at 10:35 show the following seat tally for various parties:

BJP – 73

JD (U) – 77

RJD – 42

LJPRV – 18

INC – 7

HAMS – 4

As counting for the Bihar Assembly elections began on Friday, mounted police were seen patrolling the capital to maintain order. Vote counting started at 8 am across all 243 constituencies, with security tightened at key counting centres across the state.

According to the Election Commission of India, JD(U)’s Anant Kumar Singh is currently leading from Mokama with a margin of 5546 votes after round 5/25 of counting.

BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said the direction of the results is already clear and the NDA is on course to win. He added that voters in Bihar trust PM Modi, Nitish Kumar, and the alliance, and have shown support for the 20 years of their governance.

As per the Election Commission’s official website, the trends at 10:15 am shows JD(U) and BJP ahead with 70 seats each. RJD is inching closer with 40 seats, while INC is trailing at 9.

The ECI voting trends for Raghopur seat are still not out. Although TV channels are showing RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in lead from the Raghopur seat, there is no such update on ECI’s official website – eci.gov.in.

Deputy CM and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary is currently leading from Tarapur with a margin of 1780 votes after round 1/30 of counting.

The NDA is going strong with BJP leading with 48 and JD(U) with 47 seats. RJD is slowly moving forward but is still way behind than the NDA. Currently, the ECI shows RJD to be leading n 23 seats.

In the Jubilee Hills by-election in Telangana, early counting shows Congress candidate Naveen Yadav slightly ahead of BRS candidate Maganti Gopinath. After the first of ten rounds, Yadav is leading by 47 votes, as per the ECI.

In Budgam, the main contest is between Aga Syed Mehmood from the ruling National Conference and Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi from the PDP, led by Mehbooba Mufti.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota seat, the bypoll was held after BJP MLA Devender Singh Rana passed away soon after taking office. NC’s Shamim Begum is competing against the BJP’s Devyani Rani, after the Congress candidate withdrew to support Begum.

In Rajasthan’s Anta constituency, votes were counted after BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena was disqualified following his conviction in a 2005 case involving threats to a government official.

In Jharkhand’s Ghatshila seat, the contest is between Babulal Soren, son of former BJP Chief Minister Champai Soren, and Mahagathbandhan candidate Somesh Chandra Soren.

In Odisha, the Nuapada seat went to a bypoll after senior BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia died in September. The BJP’s Jay Dholakia is facing BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria and Congress’s Ghasiram Majhi as he looks to strengthen his party’s presence in the state assembly.

In Punjab, a bypoll was held on November 11 for the Tarn Taran assembly seat, which became vacant after AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal passed away in June 2025. In Jammu and Kashmir, voting took place in Budgam for a bye-election after Omar Abdullah resigned from the seat. He had won both Ganderbal and Budgam in the 2024 assembly elections and decided to keep Ganderbal, leaving Budgam vacant.

BJP leading on 11 seats, JD(U) on 5, RJD on 2, INC on 2, and LJPRV on 3 as per the early trends of Election Commission. Vote counting is currently underway.

No. ECI is yet to display its voting trends. But according to initial TV channel reports, early trends showed the ruling NDA leading in 49 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc was ahead in 39, as counting continued across all 243 constituencies. Among individual parties, the BJP was leading in 29 seats, JD(U) in 18, RJD in 32, and Congress in seven, reported PTI. Officials said postal ballots were being counted first, followed by EVM votes. Counting began at 8 am at 46 centres spread across 38 districts.

This election saw a record turnout of 67.13%. Held in two phases on November 6 and 11, the polls allowed 7.45 crore voters to choose from 2,616 candidates contesting for 243 seats.

Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary said he believes the party will win more seats than the exit polls predicted and is confident they are headed for a two-thirds majority.

Despite predictions favouring the NDA, the opposition INDIA bloc remains hopeful. Tejashwi Yadav has claimed his alliance will win by a wide margin, insisting that the people have voted for change in Bihar.

Prominent names include Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha from the NDA, and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav. Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar is also among the major contenders.

Muzaffarpur’s Sushil Kumar said that security teams have been posted across the area and every location is under CCTV watch and video recording. He added that they are on full alert and gatherings of more than four people are not permitted.

The NDA comprises five parties, but most seats were contested by JD(U) and BJP, with both fielding candidates in 101 constituencies each. The alliance is confident that the strong turnout will work in its favour.

Bihar registered its highest-ever turnout in the recent Assembly elections, with 67.13% voters stepping out to cast their ballots. Phase 1 saw 65.08% voting, while Phase 2 recorded an impressive 69.20%. Among all 243 seats, Katihar led with a turnout of 79.11%, followed by Kishanganj at 78.17% and Purnia at 76.61%.

As Bihar prepares for the assembly election results, BJP workers gathered at Hanuman Temple in Patna to pray for a strong win for the NDA. Party worker Krishna Kumar Singh said they were hoping the alliance would secure around 175 seats or more. He added that they performed rituals, including an aarti for the Bihar Assembly, as a mark of confidence in the public mandate and the exit poll predictions. Counting for all 243 seats begins at 8 am today, with tight security arrangements in place at the counting centres.

Most exit polls have projected a clear victory for the ruling NDA alliance, led by JD(U) and BJP. This has left the opposition INDIA bloc dissatisfied, with RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav dismissing the predictions as inaccurate.
