A day after drawing a blank in the Bihar Assembly elections, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party claimed on Saturday that a section of its supporters shifted their votes to the BJP-led NDA “out of fear that the RJD would bring back jungle raj”.

At a press conference in Patna, party president Uday Singh said that many voters acted out of apprehension, choosing the NDA to prevent an RJD comeback.

Kerala Congress on Saturday alleged large-scale rigging in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The party claimed that the outcome in 128 constituencies was influenced by what it describes as arbitrary voter deletions.

The party has posted its findings on social media platform X, Kerala Congress wrote, “Bihar Rigging| 128 seats out of the 2022 won by the NDA came purely from SIR-based voter deletions. We examined the voter deletion data published by the ECI as ordered by the Supreme Court and compared the victory margins in each constituency. The pattern is unmistakable: genuine, living voters were removed arbitrarily under SIR.”

Three Assembly constituencies in Bihar have delivered nail-biting performances, with winning margins falling below 100 votes.

Another three seats also witnessed results decided by fewer than 250 votes, underlining some of the closest contests of the election, as per a report by PTI.

In Sandesh (Bhojpur), JD (U) candidate Radha Charan Shah won by RJD’s Dipu Singh by only 27 votes in the state’s tightest competition.

At Agiaon in Arrah, CPI (ML) Liberation’s Shiv Prakash Ranjan narrowly missed victory and lost to BJP’s Mahesh Paswan by 95 votes.

The Ramgarh constituency also recorded another extremely close battle, where BSP’s Satish Kumar Singh Yadav registered a win by defeating BJP candidate Ashok Kumar Singh with a mere margin of only 30 votes.

Bihar JD(U) president Umesh Kushwaha said the National Democratic Alliance had set a target of winning 225 seats in the Assembly elections and was close to it. Commenting on the alliance victory, he said to PTI, “It was our target to get 225 seats and we neared it.”

The Ramgarh constituency in Kaimur, Bihar, witnessed violent unrest after BSP candidate Satish Kumar Singh Yadav blamed irregularities in the vote counting process. As per IANS, BSP supporters reportedly went on rampage and vandalised property, pelting stones and have set several vehicles on fire.

The National democratic Alliance (NDA) registered a massive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, as 28 serving ministers have won from their constituencies. Only one minister failed to retain a seat, marking the alliance’s only loss in an otherwise dominant show. As per the Election Commission data, the alliance has won 202 seats, comfortably crossing the 122-seat majority mark.

The newly formed Jan Suraaj Party faced a major setback in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election — failing to secure a single seat despite contesting in almost all 243 constituencies.

Results announced on Friday night confirmed a landslide win for the NDA, leaving the Mahagathbandhan far behind.

According to ECI data, Sumit Kumar Singh, Minister for Science, Technology and Technical Education, suffered the lone ministerial defeat, losing the Chakai seat to RJD’s Savitri Devi by 12,972 votes.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha secured a decisive victory in Lakhisarai, defeating Congress’s Amaresh Kumar by nearly 25,000 votes. Finance Minister and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary registered an even bigger win in Tarapur, beating RJD’s Arun Kumar by over 45,000 votes.

Election Commission of India has posted the complete results for the Bihar Assembly elections. As per ECI data, BJP leads the tally with 89 seats, while JDU follows close with 85 seats. RJD won 25 seats. The Indian National Congress recorded a poor showing with only 6 seats to its name.

Union Minister and BJP chief JP Nadda said the NDA received support from all sections of society in the Bihar elections. In contrast, he said the opposition tried to divide people to gain power and relied on outsiders rather than local citizens. The people of Bihar, he added, have sent a strong message by rejecting this approach and showing their support for the nationalist forces.

The channels have already announced RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the winner from Raghopur. However, the ECI trends show that Yadav is leading with a margin of 13880 votes, ahead of BJP’s Satish Kumar.

BJP’s Maithili Thakur has won from Alinagar seat with a margin of 11730 votes against RJD’s Binod Mishra.

Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “I express my gratitude to each worker of the NDA, who have worked tirelessly. They went among the public, presented our development agenda, and firmly countered every lie of the opposition. I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart!”

He further added, “In the coming times, we will actively work towards the development of Bihar, giving a new identity to the infrastructure here and the culture of the state. We will ensure that the youth power and women power here get ample opportunities for a prosperous life.”

The PM concluded the post saying, ” Good governance has won. Development has won. Pro-people spirit has won. Social justice has won. Gratitude to each and every person of Bihar for blessing the NDA with a historical and unparalleled victory in the 2025 Vidhan Sabha elections. This mandate gives us renewed strength to serve the people and work for Bihar.”

The BJP secured victories in both the Madhuban and Sahebganj constituencies. Rana Randhir won the Madhuban seat with a margin of 5,492 votes, while Raju Kumar Singh claimed the Sahebganj seat, leading by 13,522 votes.

According to the Election Commission of India’s official website, JD(U)’s Maheshwar Hazari has won from Kalyanpur. Hazari won with 118162 votes with a margin of 38586 votes.

State minister Santosh Kumar Singh said Bihar’s voters have supported the Nitish–Modi team because they want development. He said young people voted hoping for more jobs, and women voted for better opportunities. According to him, the opposition alliance is losing ground, as people no longer accept divisive politics or attempts to mislead them with claims of vote theft. “Winning Bihar is a victory for the Indian nationalist people of Bihar… It reflects the success of those individuals who believe in Narendra Modi and are working to elevate India to the top, aiming to make it a global power,” he said.

Upendra Kushwaha thanked the people of Bihar for giving the NDA a clear majority. He said the strong work done by Prime Minister Modi at the Centre and Nitish Kumar in the state has earned public support once again, and voters have shown their trust in the alliance.

Akhilesh Yadav accused authorities of using unfair methods during the Special Intensive Revision of Bihar’s voter list. He said this tactic has now come to light and will not succeed in other states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, or Uttar Pradesh. He added that they will not allow such practices to continue anywhere in the future.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the NDA is on track to form the government again in Bihar. He added that they are prepared to push ahead with development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. According to him, the Congress has lost the trust of the people, and the victory belongs to PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and the focus on effective governance.

BJP leader Narottam Mishra said Rahul Gandhi failed to even cross ten seats, just as he had predicted. He added that Rahul Gandhi knew he would not do well in Bihar either. Mishra accused him of creating confusion during the Lok Sabha polls and said voters will no longer be misled. He also claimed that both the RJD and Rahul Gandhi have been completely pushed out.

BJP leader Suresh Rungta said the public has appreciated the NDA’s work both at the Centre and in the states. He said people trust the NDA because it delivers on its promises, and he is confident they will form the government with a two-thirds majority. He also criticised the RJD, saying the party has a history of fear, kidnappings, and hooliganism since the 1990s, and added that such behaviour is harmful for democracy.

Both JD(U)’s candidates are ahead in the two constituencies, as per the Election Commission data. NARENDRA NARAYAN YADAV is currently leading from Alamnagar and JD(U)’s NIRANJAN KUMAR MEHTA is currently leading from Bihariganj.
