A woman died from burn injuries after her husband poured kerosene and set on fire in Delhi’s Rohini area, the police said on Tuesday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) GS Sidhu, the incident occurred on Monday in the Begumpur area. A Police Control Room (PCR) call was received at the Begumpur police station reporting a fire at a house, where some people were suspected to be trapped.

Following this, a team rushed to the scene, and the matter was conveyed to the fire officials.
Sidhu stated that a police team reached the house to find the main gate locked from inside. Fire officials also arrived and successfully extinguished the blaze. “On inspection of the house, a critically burnt female was found in an unresponsive state. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead,” the officer said, as PTI reported.

Meanwhile, another PCR call was received from a different hospital regarding the admission of an injured person and his two children. Upon reaching the hospital, police officials learned that the injured man was the husband of the deceased woman.
One of the injured girls revealed to the police that her parents had engaged in a dispute, resulting in her father pouring kerosene on her mother and setting her on fire.
An FIR has been registered in the matter under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
