A seven-year-old boy drowned in a pond that formed due to heavy rains in a DDA park in the Rohini area of the national capital, police said

The incident took place Friday at 6:30 pm in Sector-20, Rohini, within the Aman Vihar police jurisdiction. Upon receiving the information, police quickly arrived at the scene and took the child to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the child drowned in a pond that had formed in the park due to rainwater accumulation.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and necessary legal action has been initiated.

Earlier, on July 27, three UPSC aspirants died after the basement library at Rau’s IAS Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar was flooded during heavy rain.
