A man and his nephew, celebrating Diwali on Thursday night, were shot dead outside their house in Delhi’s Shahdara. The incident occurred in Shahdara’s Farsh Bazar area around 8 pm and was caught on CCTV.

The clip then shows Sharma helping Rishabh, 16, place firecrackers in the lane outside their house when the person stops his scooter near him. A person can be seen touching Akash Sharma’s feet. Another person is seen walking along the scooter before shooting. Then, the assailant chased and fired at him as Sharma walked back home. His son was also injured in the firing.

Rishabh, Sharma’s nephew, is seen running after the assailants before he is also shot.

At least five rounds of bullets were fired in the incident.

DCP Shahdara Prashant Gautam told ANI, “At around 8.30 pm, we received a PCR call informing that there had been firing in the Bihari Colony and some people were injured. Upon reaching the spot, it was known that Akash (40) his nephew Rishab (16) and his son Krish (10) were shot. Akash and Rishab have lost their lives. In the prima facie investigation, we have found that 5 rounds of bullets were fired…”

Police have registered a case of double murder and an investigation is underway.
