In a significant breakthrough, police arrested two more suspects in connection with the murder of Nadir Shah, a gym co-owner, in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash area. The suspects, Pankaj Kumar and Sachin Yadav, both aged 20, were apprehended from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.
With these arrests, the total number of people detained in the case has risen to seven. However, the two main shooters, identified as Madhur and Raju, remain at large. Shah (35) was fatally shot by two motorcycle-borne assailants late Thursday in the upscale Greater Kailash locality.
Investigators believe the murder was orchestrated by associates of notorious jailed gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba, with the attack allegedly carried out under the direction of Sameer Baba, a close associate of Hashim Baba. Shah had reportedly intervened in a financial dispute between a businessman and members of the Bishnoi and Baba gangs.
Earlier, police had arrested four suspects from Azamgarh and Haryana, seizing two country-made pistols and live ammunition. One more suspect, Mohammad Sajid, was arrested from northeast Delhi. All those apprehended so far are accused of providing logistical support to the shooters.
Authorities continue to probe the case, with Special Cell teams working to locate the absconding suspects. Additionally, police may seek court permission to interrogate gangsters Hashim Baba and Sameer Baba to uncover further details surrounding the murder.
