Delhi Elections: AAP convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has conceded defeat in the Delhi Assembly polls, with the BJP restricting the ruling party much below the halfway mark. The BJP is all set to form the government in Delhi after 27 years.
At the time of writing the story, the BJP is either leading or has won 49 seats, while the Kejriwal-led AAP seems to be winning 21 seats. These are, however, still trends, as the Election Commission website has declared results for only 52 seats, with the BJP winning 36 seats and the AAP 16 seats.
As expected, the Congress did not manage to convert their improved vote percentage to seats, but the grand old party did eat votes to dent the prospects of many candidates from both the AAP and the BJP. In the previous assembly polls in Delhi, the Congress got 4.26% votes. In this election, the party’s vote percentage has increased to 6.38%, as of now. This can improve further as the counting of votes is in progress.
Here are the top 10 seats where Congress got more votes than the victory margins of either BJP candidates or AAP contestants.
