Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh dismissed exit polls predicting a BJP edge in the Delhi Assembly elections, mocking them as “surveys by massage and spa companies.”

“What else can you expect from such exit polls? Wait until February 8—AAP will form the government with a decisive majority,” Singh told PTI.

He asserted that Delhi’s voters had backed AAP’s governance model, highlighting its work in education, electricity, water, and healthcare.

“The results will reflect the impact of our promises, including Rs 2,100 for women and the Sanjeevani Yojana for the elderly. Exit polls have been proven wrong before,” he added.

Exit polls, released after voting ended at 6 pm on Wednesday, have largely projected a BJP victory over the incumbent AAP, while the Congress is expected to face another setback.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that 16 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates received calls in the last two hours, offering ministerial positions and ₹15 crore each to switch sides.

Kejriwal claimed that some agencies have projected the “abusive party” winning over 55 seats in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. He questioned why such calls were being made if the rival party was confident of securing a majority.

These fake surveys have been conducted solely to create an atmosphere to break some candidates, Kejriwal posted on X (formerly Twitter), asserting that “not even one” AAP member would succumb to the pressure.

Pradeep Gupta’s Axis My India exit poll has forecast a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Delhi Elections 2025, with the saffron party expected to secure 45-55 seats.

The majority mark in the 70-member Delhi assembly is 36 seats.

The exit poll, released on Thursday, suggests the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will win between 15 and 25 seats. The Congress party, according to the poll, may secure just 0-1 seat.

In terms of vote share, the Axis My India exit poll predicts the BJP will capture 48% of the vote, while the AAP is expected to receive 42%. The Congress is forecasted to garner 7% of the vote share.

In a series of exit polls released Thursday, the BJP is projected to make a sweeping comeback in Delhi’s 70-seat assembly elections, with Today’s Chanakya exit poll forecasting a clear victory for the BJP, predicting 51 seats for the party. According to the poll, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is expected to secure 19 seats, while other parties are projected to win no seats in the capital.

The BJP’s anticipated vote share stands at 49%, with a margin of ± 3%. The AAP is expected to garner 41%, while other parties are pegged at 10% ± 3%.

Taking a dig at exit polls that have given an edge to the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday dismissed the projections, calling them “surveys by massage and spa companies”.

“What can you expect from the exit poll surveys conducted by massage and spa companies? Wait for February 8 and the AAP will form the government with a decisive majority,” Singh told PTI.

He claimed that people have endorsed the AAP’s governance model, including its initiatives in education, electricity, water, and healthcare.

“The results will reflect the impact of our promises, including Rs 2,100 for women and the Sanjeevani Yojana for the elderly. Exit polls in the past have been proven wrong,” he added.

Most exit poll results predicted a BJP victory over the ruling AAP, while the Congress is expected to suffer yet another setback.

On exit polls for the Delhi polls, Haryana Minister Anil Vij said, “I predicted on the very first day of the elections that BJP will win, and it did… Those who had to cry will cry and those who had to win, won.”

Most exit polls released after the conclusion of voting at 6 PM on Wednesday predicted a likely win for the BJP, while the AAP to finish second and a complete rout for the Congress for the third consecutive term.

Madhya Pradesh BJP state President VD Sharma reacted to the exit polls, asserting that the actual results will align with the predictions. He criticised Arvind Kejriwal, claiming that his leadership has brought distress to Delhi. Sharma said that the people of Delhi have endorsed Prime Minister Modi’s vision for the capital’s development. With just one day left until the official results, he expressed confidence that the true outcome would confirm the BJP’s expected victory.

The AAP rejected the exit poll results for the Delhi Assembly election on Wednesday, saying the pollsters have “historically” underestimated its performance, while the BJP termed the predictions an assertion of people’s urge for change. AAP’s national spokesperson Reena Gupta said that exit polls have historically underestimated the Arvind Kejriwal-led party but in actual results, the party gains several times more than these projections.

“You look at any exit poll — whether in 2013, 2015 or 2020 — the AAP was always shown getting a smaller number of seats. But it got a greater number of seats in the actual results,” Gupta said.

Most exit polls following the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5 predicted an advantage for BJP over the ruling AAP, with Congress projected to make little to no gains.

The Matrize exit poll forecasted 35-40 seats for BJP-led NDA, 32-37 for AAP, and 0-1 for Congress. Other polls varied, with the People’s Pulse survey predicting 51-60 seats for NDA, 10-19 for AAP, and no seats for Congress. The People’s Insight poll projected 40-44 seats for BJP, 25-29 for AAP, and 0-1 for Congress. The P-Marq and JVC exit polls also showed similar results, with BJP leading and Congress with minimal support.

In the 70-seat assembly, 36 seats are required for a majority. Currently, AAP holds 62 seats, BJP has 8, and Congress has none.

Polling for 70 Assembly constituencies in the election to the Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi recorded an approximate voter turnout of 60.42% at polling stations, as updated till 11:30 PM, the Election Commission of India said in a press statement.

After polling concluded on February 5, all eyes are on the results which will be announced on February 8. Voting across the 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi ended at 6 PM on Wednesday and the voter turnout was recorded at 60 per cent.
