A 79-year-old woman named Krishna Devi was found dead inside her residence in the Jia Sarai locality of southwest Delhi, police said on Tuesday. The police were informed following a PCR call received at Kishangarh police station around 11 PM on Sunday night, reported PTI.
Upon arrival, the police found Krishna Devi’s body lying in a pool of blood, with a deep wound to the front of her neck. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, with no apparent signs of robbery or burglary.

Mamta, who operates a small kitchen catering to students, regularly supplied meals to Krishna Devi. On Sunday night, around 9:30 PM, Mamta arrived to deliver food but found the lights turned off.
After seeking assistance from an individual on the second floor, they found Krishna Devi lying dead in her room.
As per PTI, the body has been shifted to Safdarjung Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police have initiated a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC, and an investigation is currently underway.
