Israeli hostage families start 5-day march on Netanyahu’s home

The families of Israelis being held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip kicked off a five-day march on Tuesday from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to demand the government does much more to secure their release. Hamas fighters took around 240 people hostage during their Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel. The captives ranged in age from nine months to 85 and are believed to be being held in tunnels deep under the Gaza Strip. (REUTERS)

Mathura: 2 injured in firecracker market blaze die during treatment

Police said on Tuesday that two men who were injured in the fire that destroyed a makeshift firecracker market put up for Diwali on the outskirts of Mathura died while receiving treatment in separate hospitals in Agra and Delhi. On November 12, a fireman was among those injured in the fire that destroyed seven stores and ten motorcycles in Gopalbagh, Raya.

Sabarimala to open for annual pilgrimage

The famous Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala is all set to open its portals for devotees with the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival beginning on November 17. The hill shrine, nestled inside the deep forests in Pathanamthitta district, and its premises would reverberate with the holy chants of Lord Ayyappa for two months starting Friday, the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam. State Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan said on Tuesday that all arrangements have been made for the smooth annual pilgrimage at the Ayyappa temple. (PTI)
