Naga women protest against Manipur women violence

A number of women organisations came together to protest against the ongoing suffering of Manipur women in the turmoil situation. The protesters demanded severe punishment of rapists by holding banners that says, ‘Rape is a punishable crime’ and ‘No mercy, Hang the rapists’. These organisations were supported by Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA).

Oppn parties did not allow discussion on Manipur: PM hits out on no-confidence motion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a blistering attack on the opposition parties, accusing them of “running away” from the Lok Sabha during a debate on the no-confidence motion, and said his government has countered the “negativity being spread” by them across the country. He also accused the opposition of “not being serious” about the discussion on Manipur as “it would have hurt them the most”. (PTI)

Delhi man found with 21 pistols ahead of Independence day

A man, reported to be 32 -years-old, has been held by the Delhi Police Special Cell for carrying illegal 21 pistols of 32 bore in public. As per the Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) H G S Dhaliwal, the police had been informed about Lal Singh Chadhar on August 4.

India records 38 fresh Covid cases, active caseload at 1,487

According to Union Health Ministry data, India recorded 38 new fresh cases of covid-19, at the same time, India saw a drop in overall active cases to 1,487. The data was updated at 8 am and the total number of deaths due to covid is recorded to be 5,31,920 (5.31 lakh).

Nepal ready to supply tomatoes to India; seeks easier access to market

CRPF jawan found dead inside camp in J-K’s Pulwama Srinagar

A CRPF jawan was found dead inside a camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in a suspected case of suicide, officials said. According to preliminary reports, Sepoy Ajay Kumar was found dead at Chursoo in the Awantipora area of the south Kashmir district after gunshots were heard around 2 am, the officials said. The investigators believe Kumar may have committed suicide, they said. (PTI)
