Paritosh Kar, Rahul Gandhi’s Aikido trainer, has revealed interesting details about leader’s schedule and expertise in the sport. Kar has said that Rahul Gandhi is a level-1 (there are total 9 levels) black belt in Aikido and trains regularly. The Congress vice-president trains with some of his close friends who come from non-political background, and even cleans his mats himself after training, Kar revealed in an interview with Dainik Bhaskar. Kar is the same person who was seen practising with Gandhi in a Twitter post. The photos of him practising the sport with Rahul had gone viral as well.

Last week, Gandhi had set social media abuzz when he revealed that he held a black belt in Aikido. Gandhi had made the revelation while speaking at PHD chamber of commerce. The Congress VP had made comments while replying to a question asked by Indian boxer Vijender Singh. Rahul had said that he played a lot of sports including swimming and was even a black belt in Aikido.

Aikido is a form of Japanese martial art which includes throwing, joint-locking, striking and pinning techniques, coupled with training in traditional Japanese weapons such as the sword, staff and knife.

Days after that, another report surfaced, caliming Rahul is also a national shooting champion. A certificate that has gone viral on the internet shows that he is also a national shooting champion. This certificate shows that Rahul Gandhi had participated in the 32nd National Shooting Championship Competitions held in Delhi from 26th December 1988 to 5th January 1989.
