Bihar Election 2025 Voting percentage Live Updates: Record 71.6% women voter turnout in Bihar, 63% male turned out to vote

The Bihar Assembly Elections witnessed a remarkable turnout, with women voters once again leading the way. In Phase 1, female voter participation stood at 69.04%, compared to 61.56% among males, bringing the total turnout to 65.08%. Phase 2 saw an even higher engagement, with 74.03% women casting their votes against 64.1% men, resulting in an overall turnout of 68.76%. Taking both phases together, the average voter turnout reached 66.91%, with women recording 71.60% participation and men 62.80%. The data highlights a notable 9% gap between female and male voter turnout, showcasing the growing political involvement of women in Bihar.

EVMs and VVPAT machines in Mohania, West Champaran, and other areas are being sealed as the voting for the second and final phase concludes.

After the conclusion of Bihar assembly polls, Congress leader, Sachin Pilot said that people of Bihar want change.

“Maha Gathbandhan is in a strong position there. In the first phase of elections in Bihar, Maha Gathbandhan has gained an advantage and will certainly form the government…” he said in Ajmer.

Bihar election phase 2 recorded highest ever voter turnout in the state with 67.14% voters turning up to cast their votes.

Along with 65.08 per cent of phase 1 – Bihar overall recorded 66.11% voter turnout. Here is the district-wise breakdown till 5 pm for phase 2 –

As of 5 pm on Nov 11 (Tuesday), Bihar recorded a voter turnout of 67.14%.

With this, the battle of Bihar has ended concluding high-stake campaigning in the state.

On the arrangements to keep the EVMs secure, Patna DM Thiyagarajan SM said that the counting will take place on the 14th, and preparations are underway.

“Complete arrangements have been made to secure the strong room, with three layers of security in place,” he added.

To participate in the second phase of Bihar elections 2025, Mechanical engineer Neeraj Dokania flew from the Netherlands to Bhagalpur.

Speaking to the media, he said, “We live in the Netherlands, about 7,500 kilometers away, but I came to India only to vote because my grandmother asked me to. We want a good government and a better Bihar, and for that, capable people like us must step forward…”

On Bihar elections, Congress leader and former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said the state is witnessing historic polling in this election.

“They (NDA) distributed Rs 10,000 to every woman. We expect the women will vote fairly. We had never heard that money is distributed during the model code of conduct phase. We expect the Mahagathbandhan to win,” he said.

Folk singer from Bihar and SVEEP icon of Madhubani, Poonam Mishra appealed to women voters, who haven’t yet stepped out of their homes, to cast their votes.

“I urge you to go to your polling booth as soon as possible and cast your vote first,” she said.

Jamui DM Avinash Singh said the polling percentage has been very good.

“They have crossed 63 per cent here so far, which is a significant increase compared to the previous Lok Sabha election. We are monitoring through webcams, we estimate and expect that the the polling percentage will reach 70 per cent,”

A 111-year-old woman, Nasima Khatun, cast her vote during Phase 2 of Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections. She cast her vote at Chhatapur Assembly Constituency.

“I have cast my vote and fulfilled my duty…” she said.

The voter turnout till 3 pm in Bihar election 2025 phase 2 was 60.40%, and the district-wise breakdown for the same is as follows –

With two hours still left for the conclusion of voting for the phase 2, the voter turnout till 3 pm crossed the 60 per cent mark.

So far, 60.40% voters have turned up to cast their votes. During phase 1, the turnout till 3 pm was 53.77%.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi cast his vote at a polling booth.

Talking to the media persons here, he said that there was 65% of voting in the first phase of the elections, and the NDA is hopeful that in the second phase, the voting will not be less than around 65-66%.

“… Around 80 of the 120 NDA candidates will win… As per the information, as of 2 pm, the voter turnout is more than 70%…” he said.

Amid the voting for second phase, Khusbu Devi of Pranpatti in Purnia, claimed that her name was deleted from the voters’ list during the SIR exercise.

“I couldn’t vote this time. My name wasn’t on the list. I don’t know what happened. No one came to our house, what could I do?” she said.

Another resident of the same village said that at his booth, names of several genuine voters have also been deleted.

“People are worried. They all live here. Only senior officials know why these names were removed,” the voter said.

Nitish turns up at JD(U) war room as voting continues for Bihar assembly election 2025.

The voting seems to gaining strength in the second phase as till 1 pm, 47.62% of voters cast their votes for the Bihar assembly elections.

In phase 1, the turnout stood at 42.43% till 1 pm. With 4 hours to go, it is likely that phase 2 turnout will break the phase 1 record.

As voters cast their votes in the phase-2 of Bihar assembly elections, a clash has erupted between two groups outside Ghosi booth in Jehanabad.

Speaking to the media in Rohtas, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor said that people in Bihar desire change.

For the past 30–35 years, due to fear of Lalu, people were compelled to vote for Nitish Kumar and the BJP, and due to fear of the BJP, they had to vote for Lalu Prasad, he said.

“Jan Suraaj has ended this compulsion and provided an honest alternative. Now, it is up to the people to decide if you don’t support Lalu’s party or Nitish Kumar and BJP candidates, you have an option. Choose it, and create a new system,” he added.

In Bhagalpur, BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that people are celebrating the festival of democracy, and that the huge numbers hint at a comeback for the NDA.

“I feel that voting is happening in favour of the NDA… Everyone is voting in the name of development, in the name of making a developed Bihar, under the guidance of the NDA government, CM Nitish Kumar, and PM Modi… We are getting more than 180 seats, which will go up to 200,” he said.

Bypoll is also being held in Rajasthan’s Anta assembly constituency on Tuesday and in the first four hours till 11 am, a voter turnout of 28.74 per cent recorded here.

The bypoll was necessitated after BJP MLA Kanwar Lal Meena was disqualified following his conviction in a criminal case. Fifteen candidates are in the fray, with the contest primarily seen between BJP’s Morpal Suman and Congress candidate and former minister Pramod Jain Bhaya.

RJD Candidate from Warisaliganj Anita Mahto alleges that complaints are being received that “our voters are not being allowed to step out of their homes and are being stopped on the way.”

“Still, I am hopeful and positive that our people will not step back. No matter what, they will come out and stand in line to vote,” she said.

Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram casts vote in Kutumba, says that INDI alliance’s body language has changed.

“Voters’ body language has also changed. It shows that it’s time to bid goodbye to the Government which ruled for 20 years. Public has made up its mind that a new Government is needed here, and a new Government of INDIA Alliance will come here,” he said.

The leader also talked about a black Scorpio car which he claimed was moving around. “We are trying to trace whose car it is. Administration has been informed about it. Several such unwanted vehicles are moving around in different Assembly constituencies. We have alerted our workers and volunteers…” he said.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor urged voters that the massive turnout in the first phase should be surpassed in the second phase.

“…and even more people should come out to vote, so that no one has to go outside Bihar out of necessity,” he said.

Following Delhi Red Fort car blast, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said that international border along Bihar has been sealed for the past 72 hours in view of the elections.

“The Police is alert following the incident that occurred in Delhi yesterday…The Joint patrolling by state police forces is being done along the interstate borders,” he said.
