Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will release its list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections soon, state party president Dilip Jaiswal announced on Friday. Speaking to reporters, he said that the seat-sharing arrangement has been finalised and only the formal announcement remains. He added that the BJP will release its list of candidates after the seat-sharing details are made public.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has witnessed significant development. The state’s growth has gained momentum, and judging by the overall atmosphere and the mood of the voters across Bihar, it appears that the NDA government is set to return once again. The wave in Bihar clearly favours the Modi-Nitish government,” he said while speaking to the media.
‘Seat-sharing will be announced today’
“In Delhi, the BJP held a 3-day election committee meeting for seat sharing and a panel was formed for that. The BJP is a national party, and the central leadership selects candidates through the Central Election Committee, the Central Parliamentary Board,” he went on to say.
Jaiswal added, “…In the coming two days, all of you will see chaos as a lot of people are going to come towards NDA…,” before revealing, “Seat sharing will probably be announced by tomorrow….”
“As soon as the formal announcement is made, the names of the candidates will be announced one by one,” he further said.

He also dismissed speculations about Union Minister Chirag Paswan shifting allegiance towards Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj.
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has also clarified that he was not upset over seat-sharing for the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, but had made some requests.
“I was not miffed. I only had requests. We have to ensure that the NDA wins… The double-engine government is required for the public interest. We want to see Nitish Kumar as the CM again… I am going to the parliamentary meeting. I will inform you tomorrow about what happened (during the meeting),” Manjhi said.
Several BJP leaders have arrived in Delhi for the party’s core meet scheduled for today. The party is likely to announce seat-sharing for the upcoming Bihar election today.
Until now, only the Jan Suraaj Party has released the names of some of the candidates who will contest the election. The list, which has 51 names, includes doctors, a lawyer and a mathematician. The INDIA bloc is yet to announce the list of candidates and the seat-sharing formula.
