Bihar Election 2025 LIVE Updates: Several BJP ministers were in Patna yesterday to attend the nomination of various candidates since it was the last day to file nominations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025. The last date for filing nominations for the second phase will end on October 20, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is on October 23.
Home Minister Amit Shah, who was in Patna yesterday, announced that if the NDA returns to power in Bihar, it will transform the state into an “industrial hub”.
“Now it’s time for Bihar 3.0… We will make Bihar an industrial hub… Youth of Bihar have the highest intelligence in the whole world. Bihar may have a shortage of land, but we can introduce projects that require more mental work and less land,” Shah said in Patna.
He also launched a sharp attack on RJD supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying that the 15-year ‘jungle raj’ of Lalu-Rabri pushed Bihar back by almost half a century.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya held a roadshow in the Siwan Assembly constituency in Bihar on Friday. He also attended the nomination ceremony of BJP candidate Deveshkant Singh in Goriakothi.
Dhami praised PM Modi, adding that more than 30 crore people in India have come out of poverty because of the initiatives taken under his leadership. He also urged the people to elect the NDA with a thumping majority and appealed for votes in support of Aruna Devi.

Bihar Election 2025 LIVE: Congress MP criticises seat-sharing confusion in Mahagathbandhan
Congress MP Tariq Anwar on Saturday criticised the ongoing confusion over seat-sharing in the Mahagathbandhan ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, saying that the talks of “friendly fights” between alliance partners on several seats create a wrong impression among the public.
He said the confusion should have been cleared by now, especially since the nomination process for the first phase has already concluded.
Even as nominations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly election ended on Friday, there has been no official announcement on seat-sharing among the Mahagathbandhan partners.
The Congress is the only party so far to have released its first list of 48 candidates, which it announced on Thursday night.
While other alliance partners, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), have yet to declare their lists, several leaders — including RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav — have already filed nominations.

Bihar Election 2025 LIVE: JMM to contest independently in Bihar
Jharkhand’s ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) announced on Saturday that it will contest the Bihar Assembly elections independently, fielding candidates in six constituencies.
JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said, “The party has decided to contest the Bihar polls on its own. We will field candidates in six assembly seats — Chakai, Dhamdaha, Katoria (ST), Manihari (ST), Jamui, and Pirpainti.”
All six seats are part of the second phase of polling on November 11.
Bihar Election 2025 LIVE: AAP announces third list of candidates
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday announced its third list of 28 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, further intensifying its preparations for the high-stakes contest.
The third list includes Shashi Bhushan Tiwari from Lauriya, Arjun Kumar Sinha from Bettiah, Gaysaudin Samaini from Sugauli, and Ranjan Kumar from Samastipur, among others.
Earlier on Tuesday, AAP had released its second list comprising 48 candidates. As per that list, Prem Prapt Singh has been fielded from Chapra, Rajendra Prasad Singh from Lalganj, Aditya Lal from Purnia, and Inderjeet Jyotikar from Hathua.
The party’s first list had included 11 candidates.

With just a few days left to the Bihar Election 2025, political leaders are taking a swipe at each other. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that he is confident of INDIA bloc’s victory, adding that “Nitish Kumar is a remote-controlled Chief Minister”.
“People of Bihar have realised all the jumlas and false promises. Bihar will bid farewell to Nitish Kumar and the BJP. You will see that the Mahagathbandhan is going to win a clear majority. People at the grassroots are fed up. Prime Minister and Home Minister are propagating anything, but they can’t erase the ground reality,” he said.
