Samrat Choudhary’s Affidavit raises questions over age and education

The 23-page affidavit filed by Choudhary does not give clear details about his exact date of birth or educational qualifications. These details have come under scrutiny recently due to allegations by Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor.

Kishor had claimed that Choudhary avoided trial in a 1995 case involving the killing of seven people in Tarapur by submitting a “fake” certificate showing him as a minor at the time.

The affidavit lists Choudhary’s age as 56 years, “as per the voters’ list,” but it does not include any school certificate. Choudhary mentions receiving an honorary D.Litt and states his highest qualification as a “PFC” from Kamaraj University. Kishor had also alleged that Choudhary has not studied beyond Class X.
