Nitish Kumar Oath Ceremony: Nitish Kumar returns as Bihar CM for 10th time; Tejashwi extends wishes, ‘Hope govt will live up to people’s expectations’

Union Minister Chirag Paswan said called his party’s performance in Bihar a “major achievement”.

“I believe it is due to the blessings of my leader, my father, Honorable Ram Vilas Paswan. I feel immense satisfaction today, knowing that wherever he is, he would be happy with the party’s victory and this achievement, and would be blessing us. We honor him and pray that any difficulties or crises in his family are resolved as quickly as possible…” he added.

She said that the pair of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar is a hit and is ruling the hearts of people.

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said the the NDA has been working with honesty and commitment, and that is why Bihar has seen the results and delivered a clear message.

“The way West Bengal is trapped in chaos and lawlessness under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, where innocent people are in distress and Hindus are facing persecution, be assured that after Bihar, it is now Bengal’s turn. With the same working style of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, we will move ahead. We are fully confident that we will win Bengal,” he added.

After the oath-taking ceremony of the Bihar Chief Minister, BJP National Secretary Rituraj Sinha said the massive victory is a sign of the people’s unwavering trust in Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar.

“Now, the next call to action is for Bengal…” he said.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav congratulates Nitish Kumar on taking oath as Bihar CM.

In a post on X, he said, “Heartfelt congratulations to the esteemed Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Heartfelt best wishes to all the ministers of the Bihar government who took the oath as members of the Council of Ministers.”

“I hope that the new government will live up to the hopes and expectations of responsible people, fulfill its promises and declarations, and bring positive and qualitative changes in the lives of the people of Bihar,” he added.

Union minister and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Thursday said the induction of two MLAs from his party into the new council of ministers in Bihar marks a “major victory” that his late father Ram Vilas Paswan had long envisioned.

HAM(S) leader Santosh Suman, the only minister from Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party, said his experience has been good.

“It’s a very good experience because we have returned with a massive majority. The people of Bihar have shown their faith in the NDA government, and the Chief Minister has once again trusted us. It is both a pleasant feeling and a responsibility. The challenge ahead is to build a developed Bihar…” he said.

BJP leader Shreyasi Singh, who took oath as Bihar minister, said that the new Bihar cabinet is a balanced one.

“I express gratitude towards the people of Jamui and my family members. The Cabinet, which took oath today, comprises both youth and experienced leaders,” she said.

As the oath ceremony of newly formed NDA government in Bihar concludes, Union Minister and LJP(R) chief Chirag Paswan said this big victory comes with a big responsibility.

“It is people’s mandate as they have faith on PM Modi, Nitish Kumar, and NDA… For my party, my leader and my father Ram Vilas Paswan, this is a big day. I wish wherever he is right now, he must be happy,” he added.

Nishant Kumar, son of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, attended the oath-taking ceremony of the new government.

He said, “…we had made a promise earlier and will fulfill it this time too…we have all contributed collectively. Everyone has worked hard and contributed. This is the result of 20 years of hard work.”

On Bihar government oath taking, newly inducted minister Dilip Jaiswal said the event was “like a celebration, especially with the presence of PM Modi on this historic occasion”.

“Thousands of people witnessed the event. Going forward, our priority is employment for youth, respect and self-employment for women, and ensuring the rule of law,” he added.

Apart from Nitish Kumar, 26 leaders of the NDA have taken oath as the ministers of Bihar cabinet on Thursday.

In the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, PM Modi waved his gamchha and the crowd followed as NDA ministers took oath in Bihar.

On Nitish Kumar returning as Bihar CM for the 10th time, Congress leader Rashid Alvi says the BJP will change the CM midway.

“Taking oath for the 10th time is a significant thing. But I fear that the BJP will not let him remain on the CM post for all five years,” he added.

Lakhendra Kumar Raushan, Shreyashi Singh, Dr Pramod Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Singh and Deepak Prakash have taken oath as state ministers in Bihar cabinet.

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari and Powerstar Pawan Singh added glamour ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, as they sang in front of the crowd and people waved Gamchas and swayed with excitement.

BJP leader Vijay Sinha, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states arrive at Gandhi Maidan for the oath ceremony of the NDA government in Bihar.

The NDA secured a landslide victory in the Assembly elections by winning 202 seats of the 243-member house.

Nitish Kumar has reached Gandhi Maidan for the oath taking ceremony of his new government. This will be his 10th time taking oath as CM of Bihar.

BJP’s Central Observer for choosing the legislative party leader in Bihar, KP Maurya, said that under Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar, the NDA is forming the government in the state. He noted that this new government will work to move Bihar forward and meet the expectations of its people. He also congratulated Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Sinha and the other NDA leaders who are taking oath as ministers today.

BJP’s Samrat Choudhary said that Prime Minister Modi would also be present at the swearing-in ceremony. He added that the people of Bihar have supported the NDA for the past two decades and that the alliance will keep working for the state’s development.

Smita Rani, a supporter at the swearing-in ceremony, told ANI that the crowd was full of excitement, especially among women who feel they have received strong support. She added that people were very happy because it was the first time PM Modi was attending the ceremony, and his presence made the occasion even more special.

Ahead of JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony as Bihar Chief Minister for the 10th time on Thursday, posters of him, other NDA leaders, and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan were placed outside the Gandhi Maidan venue in Patna.

The historic Gandhi Maidan has hosted Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremonies in 2005, 2010 and 2015. The ground is also known for Jayaprakash Narayan’s famous 1974 speech calling for a “total revolution.”

JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said the election result was a strong mandate from the people. He added that, following this mandate, the NDA will form a government led by Nitish Kumar, who will be the next chief minister. He said their goal now is to help Bihar rise into the top 10 states in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J.P. Nadda and several other senior NDA leaders will attend the ceremony. Chief ministers from several NDA-ruled states will also be present. Shah and Nadda have already reached Patna.
