Days after Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash died by suicide, police on Sunday arrested his estranged wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha and brother Anurag on charges of abetment.
Nikita was apprehended in Gurugram, Haryana, while her mother and brother were arrested in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. A senior police officer confirmed that all three were produced in court and sent to judicial custody, IE reported.
The trio allegedly demanded Rs 3 crore to withdraw cases against Atul and Rs 30 lakh for visitation rights to see his son.
Atul, a Munnekollal resident, was found dead in his apartment last Monday. Following the incident, his brother Bikas Kumar filed a complaint accusing Nikita, her mother, brother and uncle Sushil Singhania of harassment.
The Bengaluru police, with assistance from their Uttar Pradesh counterparts, tracked down the accused, leading to the arrests. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
