A powerful earthquake measuring 7.1 on the richter scale has struck Tibet on Tuesday morning, sending tremors across Delhi-NCR, Bihar and other parts of North India, according to the United States of Geological Survey (USGS).

As per the latest update, Kathmandu was struck by the tremor at 6:50 am. People came out of their houses because of fear. Neighbouring districts have also experienced earthquake. The affected districts were Dhading and Kavrepalawok. The epicentre of the earthquake was Dinggye in China.

While speaking to ANI, a resident, Meera Adhikari, recalled her terrifying experience, “I was sleeping at the time when the earthquake took place. The bed was shaking, and I initially thought my child was moving it. I didn’t pay attention until the window also started trembling. That’s when I realized it was an earthquake. I quickly called my child, left the house, and rushed to an open ground. I am still shaking out of fear and in shock,” she stated.
