Main Bhi Chowkidar campaign: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed nearly 25 lakh security guards through audio bridge on Wednesday. Te interaction was part of PM Modi’s Lok Sabha poll campaign ‘Main bhi chowkidar’.
During his address, PM Modi attacked the Congress-led Opposition for raising questions over the aerial strikes conducted by the Indian Air Force on terror camps inside Pakistan days after the Pulwama terror attack.
“When our forces conducted strikes in Pakistan, some people here in the country felt the pain. We should be proud of our forces. Every Indian is surprised by the reaction of our opposition. Namdaars’ always abuse ‘kamdaars,” PM Modi said.
According to BJPs media head and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, the prime minister will share the “colours of Holi” with watchmen during his address on Wednesday. He is also scheduled to interact with people, who have announced their support for ‘Main bhi chowkidar’ (I also am a watchman) campaign, from 500 places across the country on March 31.
Baluni, while observing that watchmen work 24 hours a day without taking offs said that the PM ‘s initiative is aimed at highlighting the work of people like them. He also pointed out that the initiative was an important step to improve the condition of the last man in line with the BJP’s motto of ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’. A large number of people from different walks of life have come in support to the ‘Main bhi chowkidar’ campaign, he added.

Discussing the freedom of expression, PM Modi alleged that dynastic parties have never been comfortable with a free and vibrant press.
"No wonder, the very first constitutional amendment brought in by the Congress government sought to curtail free speech. Speaking truth to power, which is the hallmark of a free press was seen as vulgar and indecent," Modi wrote.
He pointed out that the UPA years saw the bringing of a law that could land you in prison for posting anything “offensive”.
