A spoof video of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Raees’ featuring Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, his wife Dimple Yadav and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is winning the internet. In the video, PM Modi’s voice has been matched with Nawazuddin Siddique, who took on ‘Raees’ in the actual movie and eventually killed him towards the end of the movie. It would be interesting to see if reel ‘Raees’ will play out in the election battlefield Uttar Pradesh also. But in this video, Akhilesh is the star, accompanied by wife Dimple and associates like Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, SP leaders Azam Khan and Ram Gopal Yadav.

While Akhilesh is the most popular chief minister face in Uttar Pradesh, there is still not a clear winner as things can swing in favour of any party just before the actual polling.
With 403 Assembly seats and 80 districts, around 14 crore voters, Uttar Pradesh is a pollster’s nightmare. With some pockets of development, a vast part of the state remains underdeveloped. Akhilesh’s Samajwadi Party has formed an alliance with a battered Congress to promise a development-oriented and secular, inclusive government to people of the state.
BJP is trying to sail through with the help of several pro-people initiatives taken by Modi government at the Centre. While the third major contender BSP led by Mayawati is eyeing to return to benefit from the anti-incumbency against Akhilesh government and her support base among Dalits as well as new found Muslim supporters. Mayawati has fielded 50 Muslim candidates in Wester Uttar Pradesh alone. The region will go to polls on February 11, which will also mark the beginning of seven-phase elections in the state.
Meanwhile, all contending parties have stepped up their campaigns across western Uttar Pradesh. On Wednesday, PM Modi would address his second election rally in the state in Ghaziabad, while Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will address four rallies, including the one in Ghaziabad.
In his last rally in Aligarh, PM Modi had ripped apart the SP-Congress alliance and BSP by coining a new acronym ‘SCAM’ (SP, Congress, Akhilesh and Mayawati). He had appealed to people to get rid of them.
